#1. Fibroma<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A \u201cfibroma\u201d might sound scary, but it\u2019s simply a noncancerous lump that forms due to irritation or injury. They\u2019re one of the most common types of oral bumps and typically form on the gums \u2013 though you might also find them near your inner cheek tissue, under your dentures, on the side of your tongue, or on the inside-facing part of your lip. Fibromas may not cause pain and can feel hard and smooth to the touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This oral bump is not a dental emergency in most cases. It might even go away on its own, though it\u2019s worth mentioning its appearance to your dentist. It\u2019s possible that your dentures or other oral appliances are causing irritation and need adjustment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#2. Abscess<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you find a pimple-like bump on your gumline, don\u2019t touch it! Instead, call your emergency dentist right away. This could be a periodontal abscess \u2013 a puss-filled pocket created by a bacterial infection. Touching it could rupture the pocket, spreading the infection throughout your mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
